Wild Sales Sitting Pretty with its Debut of Home & Office Furniture

The last time Licensing Outlook checked in on Wild Sales, the licensed tailgating specialist and outdoor games manufacturer was in the midst of a makeover. Jack Queally had taken over as company president, and a new mandate of retailer satisfaction had been put into action. The results were almost immediate.

Tailgate Toss and Mini Tailgate Toss, flagship products for Wild Sales, developed into huge hits. The company introduced another popular game, Football Toss. Currently, Wild Sales is preparing for the release of a collapsible tailgate table.

According to Queally, however, the biggest news out of the Wild Sales camp is the launch of its Office and Home Division. “We unearthed a real need for these types of products,” he says. “They fit perfectly with our company mission.”

Wild Sales recently got the ball rolling with an eye-catching licensed executive leather office chair. “We did a test with it last year,” says Queally. “Sell-through was a buyer’s delight. The NFL has allowed us to take the chair nationwide with all 32 teams. We’re also doing versions for MLB, college teams and NASCAR.”

With retail price points ranging from $299 to $399, the office chair would seem to be a bit of a departure for Wild Sales. But Queally says that’s not necessarily the case, at least from the consumer perspective. “We’re still talking about hardcore fans,” he explains.

The change for Wild Sales has been on the retail side. “Our Office and Home Division has brought life to other categories,” says Queally. “It has opened other areas of retail, including office supply stores and the furniture market.”

“We’ve seen great sell-through, margins and turns with our tailgate items and outdoor games,” he adds. “We expect to see the same—and maybe even more—from our new category.”
