Setting up umbrellas is a snap with White Spider systems.

Hitched to the Idea of Tailgating Ease
White Spider Offering Simplicity with Innovative Hitch System
September 11, 2007

Andrew Murrell, the owner of White Spider, is an inventor by nature. That talent served him particularly well four years at a big sporting event in Indianapolis. While walking through the parking lot, he couldn’t help but notice the huge number of tailgaters. The question that ran through his mind: Isn’t there an easier way?

Thanks to Murrell, now there is. “White Spider has developed a product line that bridges the gap between the avid tailgater and the camping enthusiast and soccer moms,” he says. “Our tailgate components are geared towards convenience, accessibility and functionality, as well as ease of set up.”

White Spiders Quik Nic

White Spider’s design works off the concept of an erector set for a trailer hitch. “A table, umbrella, grill—you can add whatever you want,” says Murrell. “The idea is to allow tailgaters to use minimal equipment with maximum expandability.”

Currently, White Spider offers two systems, the Express Series and the Master Series. The first enables tailgaters to set up a patio table and umbrella off their trailer hitch wherever they park their vehicle. The second offers the same convenience, with the option of adding more components with an innovative multi-port hitch adaptor.

“We’ve also created the Quik Nic,” says Murrell, “a compact system for parents on the run with kids who play sports.”

Tailgating made easy—and fun—by White Spider.

Murrell, who has begun exploring overseas manufacturing and production capabilities, is eager to introduce White Spider to the tailgating industry as a whole. His first step in that process will come at the Sports Licensing & Entertainment Marketplace and Tailgate • Picnic Show in January of 2008. His goal is to talk with everyone from retailers and buyers to distributors and potential investors.

“The market out there is huge, including sporting goods stores and outdoor shops,” says Murrell. “White Spider is making tailgating easier. In our case, less is more.”
