The complete TrackVac package

Vesture Hits the Ground Running — and Cleaning — with the TrackVac
Robotic NASCAR Vacuum Makes Industry Debut
November 28, 2006

Forgive the pun, but no one is better positioned to clean up in the licensed business than the folks who recently introduced the TrackVac. A robotic vacuum cleaner that operates on its own or via remote control, the innovative product is designed and manufactured by Vesture. The company—based in Asheboro, North Carolina, where it has a 70,000 sq. ft. facility—got its start in 1987 with heated delivery systems, an area that it still specializes in.

The Jimmie Johnson model promises to be popular now that #48 holds the Nextel Cup.

The TrackVac is a bit of a departure for Vesture, though not its first licensed product. “We also make seat heaters known as Lava Buns,” says Jason Baldwin, Vesture’s VP of Consumer Sales. “The TrackVac is currently licensed by NASCAR, and we’re looking to branch off from there.”

Vesture offers four versions of the TrackVac: #3 Dale Earnhardt Jr., #24 Jeff Gordon, #48 Jimmie Johnson, and a basic black NASCAR model. Each retails for $279 and comes complete with extra filters, brushes, and a charging station. Baldwin says margins run anywhere from 40% to 50%

Vesture plans to be aggressive in its marketing of the TrackVac. The company debuted the product at the Sports Licensing & Entertainment Marketplace and Picnic • Tailgate Show in Las Vegas. Next up is a spot on QVC timed to hit the airwaves during the Daytona 500 week in mid-February.

Lava Buns, Vesture’s original licensed product

Baldwin is one of many who believes that Vesture has a winning product in the TrackVac with great potential at retail. “Our audience is anyone with a floor,” says Baldwin, only half kidding. “The TrackVac is geared toward NASCAR fans and consumers who often feel a time crunch when it comes to house cleaning. Obviously, we’re talking about a huge market. And the TrackVac is not a toy. This product really works.”
