Team ProMark Continues to Churn Out Innovative Product
August 6, 2009
Team ProMark is like an old friend to anyone who attends the Sports Licensing & Tailgate Show—or who used to travel to Atlanta way back when for the Super Show. In Las Vegas, the company always has a sporty car on display at its booth, which highlights its commitment to automotive products. Team ProMark is also active in the hardware and home office categories.
“We introduce about five new products a year,” says owner Margo Taylor. “We stake our reputation on being innovative and offering full and comprehensive categories.”

Part of Team ProMark’s depth of selection comes from its impressive licensing arm, which Taylor now oversees. “My husband and his brother started the company in 1999” she says. “Rick passed away recently. He was really well-known in sports licensing circles.”
Team ProMark has continued doing business in Rick’s memory. “Originally, we had three licenses: Colorado, Kentucky and Purdue,” says Taylor. “Today, we’re licensed with the NFL, MLB and NBA, and we’ve added about 60 NCAA schools.”
According to Team ProMark president Bill Skinner, licensing fits perfectly with the company’s product line. “Our target consumer is the avid sports fan,” he says. “We’re geared toward men’s gifts.”

Top sellers from Team ProMark include head rest covers, the Pro-Grip hammer, the Pro-Grip calculator and air fresheners. For 2009, the company debuted a premium metal emblem, a four-pack of vent air fresheners, a laptop sleeve with an embroidered logo and a handy Hip-Grip bottle opener. “We got a great reception at the Sports Licensing & Tailgate Show,” says Skinner. “It’s always a perfect opportunity to reconnect with existing customers and expand into new markets.”
Taylor agrees. “We offer tremendous value to retailers,” she says. “Aggressive pricing is a big part of our philosophy—both at impulse and gift price points. It all started with our chrome auto emblem, which remains one of our bestsellers today.”
