RecTec Set to Launch Louisville Slugger TPX Sunglasses
October 19, 2011

If you're talking hunting, fishing and other outdoor pursuits, RecTec is a trusted brand known for its technologically advanced and eco-friendly products. The company is now bringing that same commitment to quality and the environment to licensed apparel with a complete line of Louisville Slugger TPX sunglasses. "These are styles that anyone can wear and that anyone can afford," says RecTec President/CEO Randy Rae.

Rae knows a thing or two about what sells. He has worked in the apparel industry for more than 35 years. Rae founded RecTec in May of 2010 and has quickly built the company into a proven winner. With five manufacturing facilities, including a recycling plant in Taiwan, RecTec has positioned itself to handle production and distribution on any level.

The Louisville Slugger collection is RecTec's first foray into traditional sports licensing. Rae is eager to see how retailers, buyers and consumers react. The new line of sunglasses will debut at the Sports Licensing and Tailgate Show in January.

"Our booth will be located right next to Louisville Slugger, so we'll have a nice presence," says Rae. "We're targeting sports fans of all kinds with the TPX line. We think it will be popular across the board."

All styles come in MLB colors.

To help promote the brand, a group of MLB players will wear the sunglasses on the field next spring. Rae sees a lot of potential sales outlets, from licensed shops and stadium stores to big boxes and independents.

RecTec will hit the marketplace with three-pronged attached: mass market styles the retail between $9.99 and $24.99, mid-tier styles that retail between $39.99 and $79.99 and high-end styles that retail for $89 and up. Quality is an important part of the product story.

"All the TPX sunglasses have interchangeable lenses and graphite frames," says Rae. "MLB players actually helped design them."

Rae believes the Louisville Slugger line will strike a chord with consumers. "They are excellent glasses at affordable prices," he says.
