Klutch and Breathe Bringing True Style to Women’s
Licensed Apparel
July 24, 2007
With all the markets and categories served by the licensed industry, one that’s certainly under-represented is fashion-forward clothing for women. No more, however, thanks to Klutch and Breathe, the two leading brands from R-Texx. “The cut and look of our styles sell our apparel as well as the school logos do,” says Director of Marketing Bill Miller.
Klutch and Breathe were born in 2004 under the creative inspiration of Rebecca Miller. For a year before the official launch of the collections, R-Texx spent day after day conducting focus groups and talking to college students to learn just what they were looking for in women’s apparel. The results were clear.
“Klutch delivers feminine, fashionable clothing to women who not only want to support their team but want to look feminine and trendy doing so,” says Miller. “Breathe offers sleek styles that provide the comfort of traditional licensed apparel but with a style and flair not available until now. Breathe is great for the sidelines or just lounging around.”

Miller adds that a new line is in the works as well. “We’re planning to introduce Klutch Missy at the Sports Licensing and Entertainment Marketplace next January,” he says. “Klutch Missy is alumni-sized clothing for women who have been unable to find flattering licensed apparel that fits the way it should.”
Miller adds that he’s eager to reach out to a new demographic with Missy Klutch. The line is available in Missy sizes and Plus sizes 1X through 4X.
With every major college in the fold—including USC, Texas, LSU, Alabama and Penn State—Breathe, Klutch and Klutch Missy has the marketplace covered from coast to coast. Miller hopes to eventually sign major-league licensors, too. “They are definitely in our sights,” he says.
“We are determined to seek out new markets,” adds Miller. “In the past, women have been alienated by the apparel and clothing out there. We’re giving them a trendy, fashion-forward option.”
