Topz Hoping to Find Success in the Licensed Marketplace
April 24, 2007
Jerome Romero, the founder and owner of Roadrunner Promotions, is looking for a partner. Romero has his own auto repair shop, and in his spare time—which is becoming less and less—he oversees the manufacture and distribution of Fun Topz, an imaginative bottle opener that also serves as a top to keep drinks fresh.
“Fun Topz are in a handful of stores in the Midwest,” says Romero, “but I want to get more exposure. The ideal would be to team up with a marketing company or someone who already owns licensing rights.”
|
Romero has looked into getting licensing deals of his own, but the expense is prohibitive for him. He has also received a few buyout offers, though none have been lucrative enough. In the meantime, Romero has a full inventory of Fun Topz in auto racing, football and baseball styles.
“They fit both import and domestic bottles,” he says. “They work with soda bottles and water bottles as well. We’ve used a lot for a variety of fundraising efforts.”
According to Romero, Fun Topz are a perfect fit for a licensed or customized product. “We have two patents on the design,” he says. “They are easy to use, made with high-quality ABS plastic, and feature plenty of space for a logo.”

Romero adds that he is ready to talk with potential partners at a moment’s notice. “I need someone with experience in the industry,” he says. “I’ll answer any question you have and will provide samples. Call me at 505-930-1193 or email me at promos@funtopz.com.”
