Jr.
December 18, 2007
Fundex Games—the Indianapolis-based company known for its wide range of board games, dice games, card games, outdoor games and jigsaw puzzles—is ready to enter the licensing fast lane. Fundex, which will be exhibiting at the Sports Licensing & Entertainment Marketplace and Tailgate • Picnic Show in Las Vegas, recently announced that three of its most popular games (Chuck-O, Top Toss Pro and Bulls-Eye Washers) will now feature well-known NASCAR drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson.

“Teaming up with NASCAR was a perfect strategic match for our outdoor category of games,” says Daniel Sabato, Director of Marketing for Fundex. “Our games are high quality, portable and great outdoor fun—perfect for tailgating NASCAR fans. We are now taking it one step further by highlighting Dale Earnhardt Jr., NASCAR’s most popular driver.”
Fundex actually launched its partnership with NASCAR during 2007. The company has been selling a line of NASCAR-branded outdoor games. Now, however, Fundex also boasts an exclusive licensing agreement with JR Motorsports to feature Earnhardt Jr.
Joe Mattes, VP of Licensing for JR Motorsports, thinks the timing is perfect. “Partnering with Fundex Games was easy,” he says. “Fundex creates innovative products that are high quality. Dale Jr. fans will love to play these cool new tailgate games at the track or in their backyards.”

The news of Junior, Gordon and Johnson joining the Fundex team comes on the heels of the company’s expansion of its line of outdoor action games. Indeed, Fundex has unveiled three new products—Disc Master, Jarts and Chalk Line Express. All are part of the company’s “Recreaction” collection, games that are easily transportable so families and friends can take them anywhere.
“Our Recreaction game line capitalizes on how people socialize and interact,” says Sabato. “Our games are designed to make the time with family and friends active and fun and are ideal for outdoor get-togethers. And, the games are challenging for all age levels so the young and young-at-heart can try their luck.”
Fundex expects to have all of its new offerings available for spring of 2008. The games will be a part of the company’s exhibit at the Sports Licensing & Entertainment Marketplace and Tailgate • Picnic Show.
