Sports Licensing & entertainment Marketplace
Sports Licensed and Tailgate Industry Green-Light January 2008 Show
Buyers, Sellers & Leagues Confirm Need for Strong Trade Event

Time is money. And when there is money to be made in the licensed sports business, timing is important. These two ideas converged in discussions with licensors, licensed manufacturers and licensed buyers in the days following the Sports Licensing & Entertainment Marketplace and Tailgate • Picnic Show, which debuted in Las Vegas last November.

The result of these talks was a clear, across-the-board consensus: The industry wants and needs a robust annual trade event.

Thus the next Sports Licensing & Entertainment Marketplace and Tailgate • Picnic Show will be held Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, January 16 to 18, 2008 at a new venue, the Sands/Venetian Expo Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Coola Can

Making Refrigeration Cool
Creative Cooling Offering Indoor and Outdoor Licensed Options
July 24, 2007

Few companies straddle the line between indoor game room fun and outdoor tailgating solutions like Creative Cooling. The company—a household name in Australia—launched in the U.S. in 2003. It’s leading product, the Coola Can, is a perfect example of what Creative Cooling does best.

“With eye-catching themed designs and unique cylindrical top-loading shape,” says Mani Chawla, General Manager, North American Operations, “the Coola Can is the ‘fun fridge”’ that holds up to sixty cans of any beverage, making it ideal for a large gathering or relaxing time at home. It’s a mobile electrical appliance, but it’s can run off of a cigarette light, which means you can use it in a viewing, by the pool or for tailgating.”

The CS Cooler

Chawla also feels the Coola Can is ideal from a licensed standpoint. “There is so much room to display a team logo,” he says. “It’s a great way for fans to show their affinity.”

Currently, Creative Cooling is focused strictly on collegiate licensing. There are plans, however, to expand into the pro sport market in the U.S.

The Entertainer, with its side shelves open

Speaking of expansion, Creative Cooling has introduced two products this year, the Entertainer and CS Cooler. The first offering, an upscale version of the Coola Can, has done very well in specialty markets. The CS Cooler, by contrast, is an upright unrefrigerated device (about half the size of the Coola Can).

“We’ve got some really cool solutions for tailgating,” adds Chawla. “Creative Cooling is changing the cooling and refrigeration landscape for the licensed marketplace.”
