‘Big Hand’ for Baseball Hall of Famer
November 25, 2009
Want to bring more customers into your store? Give ’em the finger. Correction—give ’em the hand, the Radhand, one of the sleeper hits of last year’s Sports Licensing and Tailgate Show. The Radhand is a colorful, hulkish “We’re Number One” product with great fan- and eye-appeal, from Brett Brothers Sports.
“The Radhand is an innovative product that comes in 10 different colors, and offers the retailer a multitude of options,” says Joe Sample.
That multitude is created by the addition of a screen-printable jersey “sleeve” that fits over the cuff of the Radhand. Thus it can be customized by dealers for local schools and teams. On the pro level, the NBA’s Warriors and Kings, and the NHL’s Blues and Avs, have done just that, and as the crowd shots on TV demonstrate, the fans are enjoying the results.

“We can screenprint for dealers if they don’t have that capability,” adds Sample.
The Radhand is a keystone product that retails for $19.95, and comes with a point of sale display. Retailers who have worked with Brett Brothers know the company is very responsive to their needs.
“We try to make it as easy for people to do business with us as we can,” Sample says.
Brett Brothers Sports was incorporated in 1997 and started as a bat company. That made sense, given that two of the brothers—George and Ken—were major league baseball stars. They made a splash in the marketplace with a patented, super-strong warstick that featured an unbreakable fiberglass handle (where 98% of bat breakage occurs).

From there the Bretts expanded into gloves, balls and accessories, including Ionic Sports Necklaces—which Sample says will also be on display this January in Las Vegas.
George Brett himself is also scheduled to be in the booth, so make sure to add a stop at the Radhand booth to your show itinerary.
